Through Project Power, we worked to have electricity poles installed through the village, all the way to our site. This crucial infrastructure means we now have the power we need to begin construction on the shelter. But the impact goes far beyond our project.
By extending the power lines through the village, we’ve also made it easier and more affordable for local families to connect electricity to their own homes. What started as a step to power our build has become a powerful resource for the whole community, bringing light, opportunity, and a sense of progress to those who’ve gone without for too long

The Next Step: Powering the Shelter
Bringing electricity to the land was a huge milestone, but there is still more to do before the shelter can open its doors.
We now need to wire the entire shelter, installing safe electrical systems, lighting, and power points so the building can function as a secure and welcoming space for the families who will live there.
Electricity will allow us to provide:
- Lighting so families feel safe at night
- Power for essential equipment and communication
- A comfortable and functional living environment for women and children
- A fully operational shelter ready to serve those in need
This final stage is essential to turning the shelter from a building into a safe and livable home.
